Hey folks,

Can't remember the last time I posted but I'm here just about everyday.

In all my builds so far, about a dozen or so, I make the brige from rough stock and pre-slot for the saddle. I questioning whether slotting after gluing the bridge would make life simpler for me, thus my question.

For those of you that slot after attaching the bridge, what jig do you use and what issues, if any, do you have with your jig or method? The Stew-Mac jig looks simple enough but I am concerned about sufficient clamping and if the jig might wander while cutting.

I slot my bridges before installing them. I use the Stew-Mac tool for repair work and touching up saddle slots for UST installation.

Tom: I slot before gluing.Bad things happen sometimes,don't want it to happen with my bridge glued to my new top.Also use two locating pin in the saddle slot to locate the bridge while gluing.For me it's better to slot first.But we all have different processes. Good luck.Tom.
